We are a dynamic, adventurous family based in Campbell River, British Columbia who loves to travel and explore the world together. With our children, aged 6 and 10, missing too much traditional school due to our travel schedule, we are seeking an experienced, engaging, and flexible homeschool teacher to join us on our journey and provide consistent, high-quality instructionwherever we are.
Position Overview
As our private homeschool teacher, youll work with our two children in a one-on-one setting, delivering a well-rounded curriculum tailored to their educational levels and interests. The ideal candidate is creative, adaptable, organized, and passionate about teaching. Youll make learning come alive both in and out of the classroom, using the world as your teaching backdrop.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement engaging lessons for Grade 1 and Grade 5 levels (aligned with BC curriculum standards or equivalent)
Customize lessons to complement our travel experiences and locations
Track academic progress and provide regular updates to parents
Maintain structure and consistency, while remaining flexible to travel schedules
Incorporate experiential learning, field trips, and real-world application of subjects
Create a warm, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
Requirements
Certified teacher with experience teaching elementary-aged children (BC certification or equivalent preferred)
Prior experience with homeschooling, tutoring, or teaching in non-traditional settings
Willing and able to travel internationally and domestically for extended periods
Strong communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented attitude
Love of adventure and a flexible, go-with-the-flow mindset
Valid passport and clear background check
