Recruitment Specialist
SOUTHLAND Transportation is currently seeking a Recruitment Specialist to join our fun, talented, and dedicated team! Reporting to the General Manager, the Recruitment Specialist will play a critical role in the selection and onboarding of key talent who share in our Safely Home vision.
This is a high-volume role, responsible for conducting upwards of 15 – 20 interviews per day during peak periods.
Typical positions to be filled are part-time School Bus Drivers and maintenance personnel.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Minimum 3 years of high-volume recruitment experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with UKG or similar ATS considered an asset
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills
- Willingness to work occasional overtime and weekends, as required
Key Responsibilities:
- High-volume recruiting on very tight deadlines
- Conduct interviews for various positions
- Prepare pre-employment and new hire paperwork as per company and legislative requirements
- Driver file maintenance and compliance for audit purposes
- Conduct pre-employment drug and alcohol screening for candidates
- Complete daily and weekly recruitment reports
- Represent the company at job fairs and career events
- Work with the recruitment team to identify new sourcing strategies for target demographics
- Identify opportunities to refine the recruitment process to improve efficiencies and the candidate experience
- Various administrative duties
Typical hours are 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, however, these may vary depending on organizational needs. A blackout period is in effect mid-July to the end of September due to high-volume seasonal recruitment.
