Position Summary:

The RF Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Radio Frequency (RF) systems across a variety of environments, including residential subdivisions (new and old), street-side cabinets, and multi-unit buildings. This position supports key telecommunications infrastructure projects, including Rogers Cable work, ensuring high-quality, reliable service delivery.

Reporting to the Supervisor, the RF Technician works both independently and as part of a team to perform fieldwork that ensures proper functioning of RF and cable systems. This is a hands-on technical role ideal for someone who is adaptable, dependable, and experienced in telecommunications systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot RF and coaxial cable systems in a variety of settings including building exteriors, utility poles, rear feeds, and underground infrastructure.
  • Complete field assignments for projects related to Rogers Cable, including new and existing developments.
  • Conduct signal testing, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Perform technical site assessments and prepare work areas in compliance with safety and installation guidelines.
  • Document work activities, including installation data, troubleshooting actions, and system configurations.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and departments as needed to meet project timelines and service standards.
  • Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and internal protocols while working onsite.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an RF Technician or in a similar cable installation/maintenance role.
  • Strong knowledge of RF signal transmission, coaxial cable systems, and related diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and signal level diagrams.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and at heights; able to lift, climb, and handle tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple field assignments.
  • Valid G-class drivers license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Must own miscellaneous hand tools; a list of required tools will be provided upon hire.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily field-based; work takes place outdoors in various weather conditions and residential settings.
  • May require working at heights, in confined spaces, or in older infrastructure zones.
  • Full-time, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime based on project needs.
  • Must be able to work nights when required, depending on project demands or service schedules.
