We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join our team! In this role, you'll be the key link between our vendors, warehouse, and internal teamsensuring we have the right materials, in the right place, at the right time. If youre great at multi-tasking, negotiating smart deals, and keeping operations running smoothly, this role is for you.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Source, order, and manage inventory based on project needs and warehouse capacity
- Ensure timely stock replenishment to support operations and delivery schedules
- Maintain vendor relationships and negotiate pricing and delivery terms
- Evaluate vendor performance and resolve any quality or service issues
- Create, process, and trach purchase orders
- Verify order accuracy and coordinate with warehouse and receiving teams
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand with the warehouse and sales teams
- Optimize order quantities to avoid overstock and stockouts
- Analyze purchasing data to identify cost savings
- Ensure purchases align with budget and operational needs
- Adhere to company policies and maintain accurate records of purchasing activities
- Work closely with warehouse, operations, and sales teams
- Communicate any delays, shortages, or substitutions proactively
- Other duties as assigned to meet demands of the role
EDUCATION
- Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or Supply Chain management
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.
- Oral and written proficiency in both official languages: English and French will be considered as an asset.
- Considerable knowledge of laws, ordinances, and regulations pertaining to corporate purchasing practices.
- Strong writing skills for creating reports, correspondence, contracts, requests, bids, and other documentation.
- Knowledge of the appropriate tools for grading, analyzing, and assessing materials, equipment, supplies, services, and other commodities.
- Demonstrated understanding of integrated supply chain and logistics concepts and theories.
- Exceptional forecasting ability with strong analytical and interpretive skills.
- Strong computer skills in a Windows environment.
- Advanced levels in Microsoft Word and Excel (Pivot Tables)
