Position Summary:

We're seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Full-time Data Entry Specialist. You'll be responsible for accurately inputting and maintaining critical data within various systems, including DR Systems Phoenix Connect and specialized timber cruising software. This role is essential for ensuring the integrity and accessibility of our forestry and operational data, directly supporting our field operations and reporting needs while adhering to industry and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • DR Systems Phoenix Connect Data Entry: Accurately input and update information within the DR Systems Phoenix Connect platform, including client information, project details, operational metrics, and financial data.
  • Timber Cruising Data Entry: Process and accurately enter raw timber cruising data from field collection efforts, adhering to established cruising standards and protocols (e.g., Ministry of Forests, FPBC guidelines). This includes tree species, diameter, height, defect, and other relevant metrics.
  • Data Verification and Quality Control: Review and cross-reference data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency, identifying and correcting errors as needed, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Data Organization and Management: Maintain organized digital files and databases, ensuring proper categorization and retrievability of information.
  • Report Generation Support: Assist in generating basic reports or extracting data sets as requested by management or field teams.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and concise documentation of data entry procedures and any issues encountered.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with forestry professionals, field crews, and administrative staff to ensure timely and accurate data flow.
  • Confidentiality: Handle sensitive company and client information with the utmost confidentiality and discretion.
  • Ad-hoc Tasks: Perform other administrative and data-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in data entry, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with data entry software and database management systems.
  • Excellent typing speed and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree or post-secondary education in a related field is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Prior experience with timber cruising data collection and entry is essential.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Canadian forestry practices and terminology.

Highly Desired/Assets:

  • Familiarity with DR Systems Phoenix Connect.
  • Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) designation with Forest Professionals BC (FPBC), or eligibility for registration.
  • Formal training or certification in timber cruising (e.g., Accreditation as a Timber Cruiser (ATC) or equivalent).
  • Experience with other forestry-specific software (e.g., GPS mapping software, timber inventory programs).
  • Knowledge of provincial forestry regulations and standards.

What We Offer

Pay Range: $50,000 ($26.04/hr) to $65,000 ($33.85/hr)

Commensurate with experience and qualifications.

  • 4% vacation pay in lieu of standard paid time off accrual.
