Who You Are:
The Continuous Improvement Leader is responsible for driving operational excellence by leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing process. This role focuses on optimizing efficiency, reducing waste, improving product quality, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. The Continuous Improvement Leader will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, implement lean practices, and track performance metrics to ensure sustainable gains in productivity and quality.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of continuous improvement projects to improve manufacturing processes and increase efficiency.
- Utilize lean manufacturing tools (e.g., Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Six Sigma) to identify opportunities for improvement and eliminate waste.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in production, quality, safety, and cost.
- Engage employees at all levels to drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Manage the development and maintenance of a structured training program for shop floor and technical staff.
- Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for optimization.
- Develop and implement standardized work procedures and best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency in operations.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve process flow, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality.
- Train and coach employees at all levels in lean tools, problem-solving techniques, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Mentor production teams and supervisors on the application of lean principles and how to identify and solve operational challenges.
- Organize and facilitate Kaizen events, workshops, and training sessions to foster team engagement and develop a lean culture.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of improvement initiatives and operational performance.
- Prepare reports and presentations on the progress of continuous improvement initiatives, providing recommendations for further actions.
- Manage and oversee multiple continuous improvement projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution and alignment with business goals.
- Work with department leaders and managers to integrate continuous improvement practices across the organization.
- Identify opportunities to reduce operational costs, eliminate waste, and increase profitability through lean practices.
- Track cost savings generated from continuous improvement initiatives and report financial impact to management.
- Train, mentor and develop a strong team of Lean Leads to support continuous improvement efforts at each factory location.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher), or other continuous improvement methodologies is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a continuous improvement or lean manufacturing role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of leading successful process improvement projects that delivered measurable results.
- Strong understanding of lean tools and methodologies such as Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Six Sigma.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Strong leadership and coaching abilities, with experience in training and mentoring teams in continuous improvement practices.
- Project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in data analysis and the use of performance metrics to drive decision-making.
- Results-driven, with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and driving change.
- Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Collaborative and team-oriented, with the ability to work cross-functionally to achieve common goals.
- Detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to achieving high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including spending time on the production floor.
