POSITION SUMMARY: MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THE APPAREL INDUSTRY

We are seeking a skilled Product Developer / Technical Designer to join the Product Development

Team at Mad Engine LLC. This role combines creative vision with technical expertise, ensuring our

products stays current and pushes the boundaries with innovation and meets customers standards in

the market.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

Technical Development & Fit

• Develop and maintain detailed costing and final technical packages including specs, grading

and construction details.

• Create and/or modify specs based on design selected and/or sold for accurate costing and

order placement final technical packages.

• Check original samples and/or counter sample and create new silhouettes by building in the

best construction method, while keeping in mind production limitations and cost

effectiveness.

• Review new orders colors selected by design and propose alternative and/or alternate

options if needed to ensure desired aesthetic.

• Create labelling packages for key customers and develop branding at the beginning of order

being issued and ensuring license concepts are approved.

Product Development / Sourcing

• Create Costing Packages (Specs + Technical Sketches + Costing Sheet) and sent to costing

team for sourcing.

• Create / follow-up with overseas vendors counter sample requests. Ensuring samples come in

perfectly by required timeline. If timelines are not achievable them collaborate with vendor

and advise sales team estimate timeline based on the initial request.

• Source / Collaborate with overseas vendors on new fabric development and acquiring

swatches to present to design for upcoming season development.

Cross Functional Collaboration

• Work closely internally with Sales, Design and Production from product development to new

orders issued.

• Communicate effectively with overseas vendors on product development to ensure timelines

are achieved.

• Daily timely communication with external & internal supply chain links.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and/or Diploma in Fashion Design Technical Design or Apparel

Engineering.

• 7+ years in apparel design and technical development with experience with mass market

clients.

• Expertise in garment construction, fit, pattern-making.

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Centric PLM, Microsoft Office software.

• Strong understanding of fabrication jersey knit & woven for construction limitations and

printing methods for those fabrications.

• Strong understanding of Children's ready to wear and sleepwear safety regulations and

requirements,

• Ability to balance creativity with technical precision in a fast-paced environment.

• Active listening and ability to incorporate constructive feedback.

• Open to new ideas, feedback and quick changes in direction due to the needs of the day.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Excellent organizational and planning skills.

• Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and take ownership while working well independently

and collaboratively as a group.
