MISSION
The Program Manager, Capacity Building of Trauma-Informed Practices is an integral leadership role that will oversee the implementation of training focused on racialized-, trauma-, and violence-informed practices for service providers supporting vulnerable youth in the Region of Peel. Using a multi-tiered approach to staff training at all levels, they will lead the design, development, and execution of the learning framework aimed at enhancing competency and skill development.
The Pod Group is partnering with this organization to place a hands-on and proactive leader to fulfill the role of the Program Manager, Capacity Building of Trauma-Informed Practices.
PRIORITIES
- Manage, develop, and implement the learning framework focused on Racial-, Trauma-, and Violence-Informed Practices for the Region of Peel, involving all service delivery levels supporting vulnerable youth, including client-facing frontline staff, supervisory staff, and managerial/director-level staff.
- Recruit and collaborate with subject matter experts, including Project Coordinators and Project Facilitators to conduct and deliver all-day training sessions, workshops, and Community of Practice learning sessions.
- Establish and manage a Community of Practice with organizational leaders.
- Lead the scheduling of all training sessions.
- Provide professional and technical consultation to tailor the training context for the Region of Peel, focusing on racialized trauma-informed and violence-informed practices.
- Deliver and facilitate training sessions and workshops and support the subject matter experts' delivery and presentations.
- Measure the key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of staff training.
- Oversee the design and implementation of pre- and post-training surveys assessing knowledge, skills, and competencies learned and learning retention, as well as participant feedback surveys.
- Compile statistical information from pre- and post-test and feedback surveys to gain data-driven insights to modify the learning framework for future training sessions.
- Collaborate with Community of Practice (the designated Evaluation Steering Committee) to gather feedback and input for the creation of the Project Toolkit, which encompasses tools, templates, guidance documents, manuals, and other useful training materials.
- Prepare the Project Toolkit for virtual and printed dissemination, including the creation of an online toolkit.
- Develop the sustainability plan adaptable to changing initiatives of participant agencies, ensuring ongoing skill and competency building for all levels of staff supporting vulnerable youth.
- Prepare the project evaluation and final evaluation report.
- Collaborate with social services, youth-serving organizations, and community partners in the Region of Peel to represent the learning framework project, promoting stakeholder engagement, building existing relationships, and establishing a strong network of collaborative stakeholder partnerships.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
TALENTS & EXPERTISE
- Bachelor's degree in a related social services field.
- Masters's degree in a relative field is considered an asset.
- Registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) in good standing, is an asset.
- Strong knowledge in supporting racialized vulnerable youth with trauma-informed and violence-informed practices and care.
- Demonstrated experience in project management or coordination of large-scale community programs.
- Proven experience with development and facilitating professional training and workshops.
- Understanding of issues relating to youth homelessness and the barriers youth face in attaining and maintaining their housing, as well as an understanding of the broader housing sector in Peel.
- Cultural competency sensitivity and commitment to working through an EDIB, anti-oppressive, anti-racism framework.
- Flexibility to work in a 24/7 operation while supporting an on-call rotation.
- Valid CPI and/or UMAB certification and First Aid and/or CPR certification.
- Valid Ontario's full G Driver's Licence is required, with a clean driver's abstract. A $2,000,000 minimum liability car insurance coverage is also mandatory.
- Completion of a successful Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check will be a condition of employment.
