Description:

We're looking for a GCP Site Reliability Engineer to oversee our client's cloud data pipelines from start to finish. You'll be the go-to person for keeping everything running smoothly, jumping in when things break, and making sure their data flows reliably.

The perfect fit for this role brings solid cloud data engineering experience and really knows their way around Google Cloud Platform services (or willing to transition quickly) and how data pipelines work. You're someone who can dive into complex problems on your own, figure out what's going wrong, and get things back on track.

Beyond the technical troubleshooting, you'll put your software engineering skills to work by finding creative ways to make our pipelines faster, more reliable, and more efficient. We're looking for someone who thinks outside the box and stays ahead of potential issues before they become real problems.

Required Skills:

• Experience & Background: 5+ years in Data Engineering support and enhancement with strong software engineering experience in pipeline optimization
• Cloud Platform Expertise: Proficient in cloud services (GCP, Azure, AWS) with deep understanding of data pipeline architectures and ETL processes
• Programming & Database Skills: Excellent Python programming for data processing and automation, plus strong SQL query writing and relational database experience
• Pipeline Management & Optimization: Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex pipeline issues while continuously optimizing for efficiency, performance, and cost reduction
• Monitoring & Reliability: Experience with pipeline monitoring, alerting, and SLA-oriented tracking for critical systems including Informatica ETL workflows, MDM, and Control-M jobs
• Infrastructure & Maintenance: Maintain infrastructure reliability, conduct post-incident reviews, and implement improvements based on analysis and testing
• Automation & Process Improvement: Automate repetitive tasks and continuously enhance pipeline reliability through systematic testing and optimization
• Documentation & Communication: Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Additional Tools: Experience with version control (Git) and familiarity with data visualization tools (Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, Domo) preferred
• Core Competencies: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and capability to work independently on complex technical challenges
• Open to work on-call shifts

Qualifications:● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
● Holding any Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification is an added advantage
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
