Veterinary Purchasing Co. Ltd. (VP) located in St. Marys, Ontario, a 25 min drive from north London, is the largest veterinary owned distributor in Canada. Our primary purpose is to ensure that Veterinarians have the supplies they need to provide healthcare to all types of animals. Be a part of the Supply Chain Industry and join our team. We are currently looking for likeminded individuals to join our Technology team in an End User Services Team Lead role.

End User Services Team Lead

The End User Services (EUS) Team Lead will manage the daily operations of the team and represent the team to other stakeholders helping to ensure the team is constantly developing and improving. Lead the team to monitor and provide technical day to day support to VP users, clinics and vendors. Work closely with management and IT team to determine future user technology needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning, installation and maintenance on user hardware and software
  • Develop methods and tools to be used to validate new equipment
  • Create and manage projects that are designed to add functionality required by the Company or to address ongoing business needs (eg. Workstation refresh)
  • Lead the technical team in day-to-day support of all end user needs and provide first level technical support for application and Infrastructure related issues.
  • Analyze current technology architecture working with the IT Manager on the ongoing end user services roadmap
  • Works in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Conducts self with regard for safety of employees; is aware of safety and evacuation procedures
  • Report to supervisor / manager any health & safety violations or hazards.
  • Work with IT Manager to Lead the IT service management governance strategy
  • Building and growing a service-oriented culture within EUS and to drive continuous improvement through KPIs.
  • Accountable for ensuring the security audits are complete, documented and deviations corrected.

Good manufacturing practices:

  • Follow and understand all relevant Standard Operating Procedures with respect to Good Manufacturing Practices

Skills and knowledge required:

  • Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline.
  • Familiarity with process governance.
  • ITIL foundation certification is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate at multiple levels.
  • Ability to lead technical projects.
  • Customer Service Focused with 5+ years working in an IT service environment
  • 3+ years experience leading a technical team
  • Excellent Technical Knowledge and hands-on experience with a wide variety of hardware, software and peripherals. Knowledge AS400 is an asset.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Schedule:Operational coverage runs Sunday to Friday, with rotating shifts scheduled between 6:00am and 10:00pm. On-call duties are required as part of a rotational schedule.
