Hours: Hours of work vary – daytime, evening and weekend shifts are available; 2-10 hours per week, July 2025-June 2026

Salary: $16.36-$18-47 per hour
Closing Date: Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 4:30 PM PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
As a member of the Community Services Department, this position will oversee a program and the participants (in their designated recreational program) in a variety of activities in a friendly, engaging, and caring environment. They ensure safety and answer general questions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Represent the City of Belleville in a professional manner with appropriate actions and conduct.
  • Ensure the safety and supervision of the participants by following all rules and regulations set out by the Department and/or outside organizations.
  • Responsible for the completion of attendance and any required paperwork as per the Department Procedures.
  • Responsible for problem-solving when issues arise and to provide quality customer service.
  • Assume the responsibility for assessing and responding in an emergency situation and completing the necessary reports.
  • Ensure with the proper handling and care of the equipment, supplies and facilities utilized, and reporting damages or losses to Programmer.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the facility at the end of each program.
  • Completion of the required administrative forms (ie. Injury, incident forms, supply requests, daily logs, etc.).
  • Attend all staff training sessions and scheduled staff meetings.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/SPECIALIZED SKILLS & WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum enrolled in Highschool, or equivalent
  • Current Standard First Aid and C.P.R. certification
  • A satisfactory Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check

Preferred Qualifications:
  • High Five – Principles of Healthy Child Development or Older Adult certification
  • Enrolled in a post-secondary school child-related, recreation, social work or related field of study
  • Experience planning and implementing recreation programs
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
