Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Executive Director Operations is responsible for the operational activities of the Vancouver campus including facility management, and multi-year business and facility planning. The position
acts as a part of the leadership team, while also directly supporting Human Resources and Information Technology.
What you will be doing:
- Assists the COO in creating an environment that supports the campus and University goals and objectives and that fosters a sense of community among students, faculty, administrators, staff, and guests.
- Assists the COO in enforcing the Campus and University administrative policies and standards.
- Oversees all hiring and appointments for all Vancouver-based staff
- Oversees current and future capital planning and projects
- Develops and implements policies and programs for administrative operations and building security.
- With the Leadership Team, establishes enrollment targets and goals for the Campus and is responsible for the achievement of those goals.
- Participates in the development, review, and implementation of University policies and procedures.
- Oversees administrative services including facilities management, space planning, and Campus safety and security
- Negotiates with vendors for contracted services: facilities, maintenance, security, custodial, vending, printing, and bookstore.
- With the COO, oversees HR practices for the Vancouver Campus.
- With the COO, and the Quality Assurance Coordinator, ensures compliance with regulatory agencies, including the preparation of required reporting obligations.
- Researches, analyzes and reports trends and benchmarks with other organizations regarding financial and operational practices.
- Acts as the Privacy Officer for the Vancouver Campus
- Oversees Accommodations for Students with Disabilities.
- Master's degree required or equivalent in a field related to higher education administration. Doctorate is a plus.
- Administrative experience in higher education including staff management and fiscal accountability.
- Extensive knowledge of university operations required.
- Experience in the development and oversight of a substantial budget.
- Ability to provide leadership to diverse constituencies, and develop and maintain effective and constructive collaborative relationships with campus administration and staff at all levels.
- Outstanding communications, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide leadership and a commitment to working in an inclusive, diverse and participative organizational culture.
- Computer proficiency in data management, spreadsheet, and word processing applications. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague a plus.
- Valid passport required for international travel.
- Canadian residency or work permit required.
