About the Opportunity:
At Pursuit Aerospace, we are committed to excellence in precision machining for the aerospace industry. We are currently looking for a dedicated Quality Inspector to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the manufacturing of mission-critical components in a collaborative, high-standards environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and eager to grow within a fast-paced and safety-focused CNC machining shop.

Location: Orillia, Ontario
This is an Onsite position.
Responsibilities:
- Perform in-process and final inspections using mechanical and electronic methods on precision-machined aerospace components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies.
- Conduct machine-side inspections on equipment including vertical boring mills, radial drills, lasers, water jets, and lathes.
- Complete bench inspections of machined rings, forgings, castings, and spin-formed components.
- Visually and dimensionally inspect welds prior to fluorescent penetrant testing.
- Document and write rework procedures for non-conforming parts in compliance with company and aerospace quality standards.
- Use precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges, comparators) and read complex engineering drawings/blueprints.
- Ensure all inspections comply with AS9100 and customer-specific aerospace requirements.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying non-conformances and recommending corrective actions.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment to support inspection accuracy, ensure compliance with aerospace cleanliness standards, and promote overall workplace efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of mechanical inspection techniques and measuring tools.
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Engineering drawings and blueprints
- Safety procedures and work instructions
- Proficiency in basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with documentation systems and Microsoft Office.
- Good communication skills – verbal and written.
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagrammatic instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a CNC machining or aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with AS9100 or other aerospace quality management systems.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation is an asset.
- Completion of college courses or certification in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Quality Assurance, or Machining is an asset.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
- Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours/day).
- Manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
- Visual acuity for precision inspection tasks.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and climbing short ladders or steps.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
