Why we have this role:
In this role you will spend your time working acquiring new business and working directly with customers to help them achieve their personal and financial goals for their individual operations. This will include providing quality nutritional sales and service support and leading edge ration formulations utilizing premixes and supplement for dairy, beef and other ruminant producers in your assigned region which includes Huron and Perth Counties. All this while continuing to advance your knowledge of both the industry and the science of ruminant nutrition.
Working with us:
This is a permanent, full-time position. Your home base will be where you live, which means you will work remotely with access to our office facilities in Cambridge, Ontario. You will travel within South-Western Ontario region up to 5 days a week.Our ideal candidate would be located in the Huron and Perth region.
What you'll do:
Sales Growth & Client Development
- Grow and support dairy accounts by proactively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Develop strong on-farm relationships and deliver consultative, value-added service.
- Manage a portfolio of farms; maintain an active pipeline of key prospects.
- Promote new products, feed solutions, and services aligned with farm needs.
Customer Service & On-Farm Support
- Provide tailored nutritional and operational advice, with support from GVF nutritionists and specialists.
- Conduct barn tours, analyze farm data, and calibrate feeding systems (TMR, robotics, computer feeders).
- Troubleshoot production issues and deliver timely, practical recommendations to improve herd performance.
Strategic Farm Solutions
- Use GVFs Business Strategy Wheel to deliver a full suite of services, from feed formulation to commodity sourcing, sustainability, and farm data analytics.
- Leverage internal experts and partners to provide innovative, cost-effective solutions tailored to each farms needs.
Product Development & Innovation
- Share customer feedback and industry insights to support product innovation.
- Promote new technologies and tools to enhance on-farm efficiency and profitability.
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Represent GVF at local and industry events, and support marketing initiatives including small group meetings and social media engagement.
- Contribute to publications and company communications when requested.
Internal Collaboration & Administration
- Maintain accurate records, submit reports/expenses, and participate in regular team meetings.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
- Support receivables follow-up and contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the company.
Your background includes:
- A true passion for agriculture and the dairy/beef industry
- Experience in a nutrition, sales and service position is an asset
- Post secondary education in a related field of study
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
- Willingness to learn and ability to quickly understand nutritional and sales knowledge
- Bilingual in French and English would be considered an asset
- A valid Canadian Drivers License is required
- Able to travel within your territory 5 days a week
