We are hiring a Liferay
Developer to join our growing company for permanent employment. With a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in web development, the ideal candidate will work directly with clients to design, develop, and deliver high-performance, responsive web applications using Liferay and modern frontend technologies. As a client-facing Liferay Developer, you will spend significant time on-site at client locations, translating business requirements into compelling user experiences while contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle.

This is a hybrid role, and the candidate must work from the Toronto office 3 days/ week.

What will you do?

• Work directly with Veriday team members and clients on-site to understand requirements, present solutions, and deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Design and develop responsive web interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (React/Angular), HTML5, CSS3, and Liferay's frontend capabilities
• Build full-stack solutions leveraging Liferay DXP, Java, and modern web technologies to create high-performance applications
• Translate business requirements into working solutions and communicate technical approaches and progress clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate with client teams and represent our company professionally in all client interactions
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and design to implementation and testing.
• Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code with a focus on accessibility, user experience and performance.
• Integrate Liferay with external systems and third-party applications as needed
• Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams to successfully deliver projects on time.

What do you need to succeed?

Core Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution with 5+ years of web development
• Strong frontend development skills - HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), responsive design
• Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks - React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Experience with Liferay DXP OR strong enterprise DXP, Portal or CMS platform experience with a willingness to learn Liferay
• Java/J2EE application development experience
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Self-motivated, creative, and proactive, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent client communication skills and professional presence for client-facing interactions

Preferred Experience:

• Familiarity with Modern Liferay Application Development approaches such as Collections, Fragments, Data Sets, Liferay Objects, Headless APIs, and Client Extensions
• Familiarity with OSGI framework and MVC design patterns
• Web services and API development/integration
• Integration experience with external applications such as Salesforce, SharePoint, ERP, CRM, custom applications, or third-party systems.
• Proficiency in code management tools, automated build setup, and deployment procedures.
