About the Role
Reporting to senior finance leadership, the Accounting Specialist will support core accounting processes including month-end close, financial reporting, and forecasting. The role requires frequent collaboration with cross-functional teams including HR, operations, and department leads to ensure financial data is accurate, timely, and aligned with organizational goals.
What You'll Do
- Analyze financial data and assist in preparing reports, statements, and projections
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across clinical and administrative departments
- Provide financial insights to help drive operational decisions
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliations as needed
- 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or public sector
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFs, etc.)
- Experience with financial systems or reporting tools (SAP, Cognos, etc.) is an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field
- A proactive attitude and strong sense of accountability
