A respected healthcare organization in the GTA is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join its finance team. This role offers the opportunity to support critical financial processes in a collaborative and mission-driven environment. Ideal for professionals with a strong background in accounting and data analysis, this position will directly contribute to operational decision-making and financial integrity.
About the Role
Reporting to senior finance leadership, the Accounting Specialist will support core accounting processes including month-end close, financial reporting, and forecasting. The role requires frequent collaboration with cross-functional teams including HR, operations, and department leads to ensure financial data is accurate, timely, and aligned with organizational goals.
What You'll Do
  • Analyze financial data and assist in preparing reports, statements, and projections
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across clinical and administrative departments
  • Provide financial insights to help drive operational decisions
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliations as needed
What You Bring
  • 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or public sector
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFs, etc.)
  • Experience with financial systems or reporting tools (SAP, Cognos, etc.) is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • A proactive attitude and strong sense of accountability
