About The Job

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role is responsible for overseeing and improving financial administration across multiple entities. The Senior Accountant will lead budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and month-end closing processes, while supporting audits, tax compliance, and ongoing financial planning.

This position plays a key role in driving financial insight and operational efficiency through in-depth analysis, financial modeling, and collaboration with internal departments. The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in cost accounting, data analysis, and ERP systems, along with a proactive mindset and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement. Corinex is hiring range for this role is CAD $77,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Finance to oversee financial administration across multiple entities, continually enhancing financial processes and procedures.
  • Lead the development and management of budgets, forecasts, cash flow reports, and the timely preparation of month-end financial statements.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure proper accounting of all transactions and align financial processes with organizational goals.
  • Generate comprehensive financial reports and analyses for internal stakeholders, supporting all aspects of year-end audits, tax compliance, and ongoing forecasting efforts.
  • Perform detailed variance analysis on profit and loss statements and key balance sheet accounts, ensuring that insights are clearly captured and communicated.
  • Work directly with project teams to develop financial models and proformas, focusing on due diligence and feasibility to support project development.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, conduct ratio analysis, and provide strategic insights to optimize financial performance.
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and perform internal audits to verify the accuracy of financial and accounting records.
  • Ensure accurate and timely compliance with all tax filings (GST, PST, NRT) and statistical reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Holds a CPA designation.
  • Over 5 years of hands-on experience as a senior accountant in a computerized accounting environment.
  • Expertise in cost accounting within a manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes, including budgeting, financial close, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis and forecasting techniques.
  • Proficient in project management tools, tracking systems, and presentation software, with the ability to create graphs, charts, and visual aids to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, accounting software, complex spreadsheets, work order systems, and other related data entry platforms.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Demonstrates professional, ethical, and collaborative behavior.
  • Works with minimal supervision, ensuring tasks are completed with high accuracy, efficiency, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities.
  • Solid knowledge of IFRS and GAAP standards.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments including various projects.
