We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team! You will oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.

The Senior Construction Project Manager will be responsible for the overall successful delivery of large-scale commercial construction projects. This includes managing all aspects of the project lifecycle, from pre-construction and planning to execution and closeout. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with exceptional communication skills, extensive experience in commercial construction, and a proven ability to manage complex projects with significant budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership & Management: Lead and manage all phases of construction projects, ensuring they are completed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule requirements.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage comprehensive project budgets, including cost estimating, forecasting, and regular financial reporting. Proactively manage project-related financial risks and opportunities.
  • Scheduling & Planning: Create, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules, identifying and mitigating potential delays.
  • Team & Stakeholder Coordination: Effectively lead and motivate project teams, including superintendents, project coordinators, and subcontractors. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other key stakeholders, fostering strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Contract Management: Oversee all contract administration, including bidding, negotiation, and execution of agreements with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Quality & Safety Assurance: Ensure the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained on all job sites. Enforce company and regulatory safety protocols to create a safe working environment.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. Develop and implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
  • Reporting: Provide regular, detailed project status reports to senior management and clients, highlighting key milestones, budget updates, and any potential issues.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in construction project management.
  • Mandatory: Demonstrable experience managing commercial construction projects with a value of $15 million or greater.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations in Alberta.
  • Proven success in managing project budgets, schedules, and teams.
  • Exceptional negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Plangrid, MS Project).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
