Talbot & Associates (T&A) is a bilingual accounting firm (CPA) founded in Manitoba that has been dedicated to providing outstanding client relations and support services since 1991. Since 2019, we have been on the Top 3 Accounting Firms in Winnipeg list created by Three Best Rated. WHAT YOULL BRING
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of networking technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, WAN, VLAN, etc.).
- Familiarity with Windows Active Directory and Windows Server 2016, 2019 or higher.
- Experience in administering and managing Microsoft 365 and creating and managing Microsoft SharePoint Sites.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure (Entra), PowerShell, Power Automate, or other scripting and automation tools.
- Basic understanding of firewalls, switches, access points, and security appliances.
- Experience in the installation and troubleshooting of PCs, NAS, and other hardware.
- Proficient in Windows OS, Mac OS, and VoIP phone systems.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage 50, Caseware is a definite asset.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, with frequent distractions.
- Strong problem-solving and analyticalskills with a proactive mindset.
- Attention to detail, adaptability and flexibility.
- Personable, organized, motivated, and friendly nature.
- Degree/Diploma in IT, Network and Computer Technology.
- Microsoft, CompTIA or Cisco Certifications are an asset.
- Valid drivers license and availability to travel to out-of-town offices when required.
WHAT YOULL DO
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to servers, networks, Desktops, Printers, scanners and other applications.
- Implement, support, and maintain business applications, including the full Microsoft M365 suite of applications and other SaaS tools.
- Provide responsive on-site and remote IT support to staff across multiple locations.
- Complete projects and documentation in a timely and organized manner.
- Assess and adjust priorities dynamically, ensuring that critical tickets and tasks are addressed promptly based on business impact and urgency.
- Identify ticket trends and implement automation or other tools to mitigate issues.
- Manage user onboarding and offboarding, including account setup, access permissions, and equipment provisioning.
- Install and update software, patches and other security updates
- Install and maintain desktops, laptops, scanners and other peripherals for end users.
- Administer Active Directory, group policies, authentication, and other security protocols.
- Interact with vendors to resolve technical issues with hardware and software.
- Be available for occasional travel to satellite offices and extended hours during tax season, or as needed.
- Maintain consistent and proactive communication with the IT Manager to ensure alignment on technology initiatives, troubleshoot system-related issues, and support the implementation of IT solutions.
- Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required.
