Work Schedule: Night shifts from Sunday to Thursday 11:00PM – 7:00AM
Summary
We are seeking for an Extrusion Operator to join our team on an afternoon or night shift, to focus on processes of producing various rubber profile from raw material using a microwave or heated saltwater curing process.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Supervise and verify quality of profile.
- Ensure that the compound is entering the extruder continuously and efficiently.
- Ensure all dimensions are within spec.
- Ensure the hardness of the profile is within limits as specified on the set-up sheet.
- Make regular checks on the water level in the cooling tank and ensure that is centered on the hot air tunnel belt.
- Ensure Quality Control Extrusion Chart is completed for each crate.
- Ensure samples are available for the Q.C. Inspector and recorded on the form.
- Pack the extruded profile as instructed.
- Ensure printing and logo is accurate and is in accordance with the drawing.
- Document and record all required information.
- Perform other duties as required by supervision to meet production requirements.
- Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to.
Requirements
Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
- Self-motivated and results driven

- High school diploma is preferred
- Effective communicator
- Read write and speak basic English
- Must be able to use or can be trained on various types of measuring tools related to our gasket manufacturing process.

Complexity & Judgement:
Encounters quality issues, material & machine faults which need to be reported to the Shift Supervisor
Contacts:
Occasional interaction with Health & Safety Coordinator and Plant Manager
Interacts daily with Shift Supervisor, Lead Hand & Q.A. Inspector
Working Conditions:
Incumbent spends almost 100% of his/her time in the plant environment requiring varying degrees of light to moderate physical labor. Lifting, pulling, bending (less than 25 lbs), standing and walking cover the majority of the work. Frequent rotation (every 3-4 hours) from feed-end of line to take-off end. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, and the use of sharp blades for cutting rubber.
