Instrumentation Engineer (Dartmouth, NS) On-Site/In-Office
Our client is a fast-growing startup with a unique product-based solution for a diverse range of industries. We are working closely with them to hire an Instrumentation Engineer to join their expanding team.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Engineer with education or background in electronics or mechanical engineering. Ideal candidate will have experience in start-up or scaling organizations collaborating to achieve complex technical challenges and enhance products from a hardware and software design perspective. The role is with a small but growing team, requiring a self-starter with excellent problem solving skills who can also work in a highly collaborative mode both internally and with clients.
Responsibilities will include:
- Design & test electronics and microcontrollers for system control and interfacing to embedded PCs for system control
- Developing test circuitry using basic discrete electronics
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of chemists, software engineers, and university partners to integrate mechanical systems with electronic and software components
- Collaborate with diverse specialists on designs for manufacturability, assembly and serviceability of sample introduction systems and component manufacturing
- Maintain detailed documentation of design concepts, iterations, and final specifications
- Create reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Documenting and reporting on designs & manufacturing
The ideal candidate could come from a mechanical or electronics engineering background with exposure or experience in the other field. Experience or interest in analytical chemistry would be considered an asset.
