What You'll Do
- Install & Maintain: Lead the installation, preventative maintenance, repair and overhaul of low, medium, and high-voltage electrical systems, including motors, controls, cranes, air handling units, and process-control field devices.
- Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose electrical faults using specialized test equipment, create clear test reports, and rapidly restore production equipment.
- Collaborate: Partner with mechanical technicians, contractors, and production staff during scheduled shutdowns or emergency work to ensure seamless repairs.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in safety, reliability, and process-improvement initiatives; assist in developing preventive maintenance programs.
- Documentation: Accurately track and close out work orders in the CMMS and follow all lock-out/tag-out, confined-space, and other safety procedures.
- Certification: 442A or 309A Electrician licence.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of Canadian and provincial electrical codes; experience with PLCs and field devices.
- Experience: Background in material-handling controls, foundry or metals industries is a plus.
- Computer Skills: Comfortable using a CMMS to log maintenance activities.
- Mindset: Proactive problem-solver with a bias for safety and environmental responsibility.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying atmospheric conditions.
- Comfortable climbing ladders, working at heights, and operating power tools (electric, pneumatic, hydraulic).
- Flexible to rotating 8– or 12-hour shifts (days, afternoons, nights) and occasional overtime.
- Must wear required PPE at all times.
