Vancouver Talmud Torah is currently seeking an Inclusive Education Teacher (0.8 - 1.0 FTE) for the 2025/2026 school year.

Vancouver Talmud Torah is an Early Childhood to Grade 7 Jewish community day school fostering Jewish identity and literacy with a strong emphasis on producing students who will engage the world through Jewish values. Rigour, excellence, innovation and creativity are integral to the learning experience at VTT. Our school serves families from a diverse range of Jewish backgrounds and religious practices. We are Western Canada's largest Jewish community day school and have more than 100 years of experience!

Job Summary

We are currently accepting applications from qualified individuals for an Inclusive Education Teacher role, with a focus on student support and remediation in small group settings. This role will support students across a variety of grade levels and academic areas, ensuring every child has access to the support they need to succeed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current certification or eligibility for certification with the BC Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB).
  • Bachelors degree in Education; a Diploma or Masters degree in Special Education is an asset - otherwise, significant professional development or training in this area
  • Demonstrated experience working with students requiring remediation or targeted instructional support.
  • Strong skills in small group instruction and intervention strategies for literacy and numeracy.
  • Commitment to differentiated instruction and inclusive education practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership in the area of Inclusive Education
  • Proficiency in developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, support staff, and parents.
  • Ability to foster positive student relationships and promote student well-being.
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort using educational technology.
  • Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Vancouver Talmud Torah.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted small group instruction in reading, writing, and/or numeracy.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt instructional strategies for individual learners.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of IEPs and Student Support Plans.
  • Participate in team meetings with administrators, counsellors, and educational support staff.
  • Support a nurturing, inclusive, and respectful classroom and school environment.
