Salary:

The Toronto Blue Jays are in search of a dynamic and results-driven Digital Marketing Specialist to join our growing marketing team.

Reporting to the Manager, Website & Direct Marketing, the successful candidate will be onboarded for a 12-month contract, and will execute website launches on Bluejays.com, develop targeted email campaigns, and enhance the digital experience for all fans. As a key prime on the marketing team, the successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in organizational planning, brief & copy writing and cross-functional project management.

Key Responsibilities:

Execute Website Changes & Optimization

  • Key point of contact for Bluejays.com, reviewing and digesting internal briefs from internal partners
  • Digest request & ensure we have all supporting information needed to execute
  • Work cross-functionally with MLB to ensure executional excellence of brief, and share out for internal alignment
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage launch timeline
  • Ensure regular maintenance of site, including accurate details related to ticket products, players, & schedule

Email Marketing Campaign Briefing

  • Assist in executing email marketing calendar, working with cross functional teams including ticketing, partnership & Jays Care for launch approvals
  • Competent brief writer including copy writing, imagery selection, and general knowledge of email best practices
  • Brief MLB team on creative and correlated email elements, to coordinate an email proof for approval with Manager
  • Manage internal approvals & ensure proper deployment scheduling, according to campaign calendar

Support on Creative Development of Digital Marketing Assets

  • Ability to brief design team on web and email graphic requirements, including writing deliverables lists with: spec requirements, intentional messaging hierarchy, and tailored copy at a per asset basis based on best practice
  • Understand Blue Jays brand guidelines when briefing creative
  • Keen eye for detail in reviewing completed graphics for accuracy
  • Packaging assets upon approval, and preparing for brief of web and/or email launch

Manage Day-to-Day Execution of Blue Jays SMS

  • Ability to copy write short, impactful SMS communications for younger target audience
  • Maintain SMS calendar, including briefing and review process with MLB and cross-functional partners

Marketing Reporting and Analysis

  • Ad hoc reporting for email, web, SMS and performance marketing campaigns pulling actionable insights to test and learn moving forward
  • Regular monthly reporting to leadership team

Who You Are / What You Bring:

  • 1-3 years of experience working in digital advertising
  • Completed degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
  • Familiarity with digital analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) to track and measure online user behavior, website performance, and digital campaign effectiveness
  • Proficiency using MS Office 365, as well as project manager software (e.g. Monday.com) to coordinate digital marketing campaign execution
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems a plus (e.g., Salesforce, Iterable) to manage execution of email campaigns with digital producers at MLB
  • Self-starter mentality, with ability to manage multiple competing priorities, work autonomously, and multi-task under pressure
  • Interest in copy writing, especially taking on a Blue Jays brand voice, as well as being able to speak contextually to a younger target demographic
  • Proven track record of building positive and productive working relationships with internal cross-functional teams and external agency/vendor partners
  • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort with ambiguity
  • Understanding of analytics tools and digital media ad-platform (DCM, Google Ads, Business Manager, X/Twitter, etc.) and analytics platforms (Adobe Analytics-Omniture, Google Analytics)
  • Sports Industry or Media Agency experience is an asset
