Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Bookkeeper to join our client's team in Mississauga, Canada. As a key member of their finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring the overall financial health of our organization.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Assist in monthly and year-end closing processes
- Generate financial reports and statements
- Manage payroll processing and related tax filings
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records
- Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting
- Associate's degree in Accounting or related field (preferred)
- Minimum 2-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks
- Advanced Excel skills and strong mathematical abilities
- Data entry accuracy and 10-key proficiency
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Understanding of financial statements and reporting
- Experience with accounts payable/receivable processes
- Familiarity with payroll processing and related tax requirements
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines
Additional Information
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25 per hour
Expected hours: 20-25 hrs per week, must be available daily Mon – Fri. Potential to increase hours over time.
Flexible language requirement: French not required
Work Location: Remote, may be required to attend meetings in person in Mississauga office.
