Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Bookkeeper to join our client's team in Mississauga, Canada. As a key member of their finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring the overall financial health of our organization.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Assist in monthly and year-end closing processes
  • Generate financial reports and statements
  • Manage payroll processing and related tax filings
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Accounting or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong mathematical abilities
  • Data entry accuracy and 10-key proficiency
  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Understanding of financial statements and reporting
  • Experience with accounts payable/receivable processes
  • Familiarity with payroll processing and related tax requirements
  • Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines

Additional Information

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25 per hour

Expected hours: 20-25 hrs per week, must be available daily Mon – Fri. Potential to increase hours over time.

Flexible language requirement: French not required

Work Location: Remote, may be required to attend meetings in person in Mississauga office.
