Belvika is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to maintain the overall quality standards for all products packed and ensuring that the Company's & Client's quality specifications are complied with at all times. The QA Inspector will be located at 6690 Goreway, Mississauga and must be flexible to work on all shifts and other locations. Current shifts available: Afternoon Position Summary: * This is a Quality Assurance Inspector position within the Quality Department of a Co-packer in confectionary and snack food products. * Areas include quality element control related to operations, policy and procedure auditing, leads quality improvement projects, and drives defect prevention and detections. * Organizes and reviews all QA aspects of daily production. The successful candidate will: * Monitor and inspect production lines on a shift basis to ensure client quality and food safety standards are being met. * Complete picture profiles, QA forms, and other necessary documentation for all new items. * Perform pre-Op inspection along with allergen swabs when needed. * Conduct water, air sampling and environmental swabbing according to company and client specifications. * Conduct a variety of monthly internal audits with cross-functional team and identify opportunities for improvement. * Verify the completion of daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties, ensuring records are accurate and up to date. * Report Non-Conformance issues on a per-shift basis and issue NCRs to customers as required. * Ensure that the pest control program is being maintained and liaise with Pest Control operator to ensure that all BTPL and regulatory standards are being met. * Support customer and certification audits to maintain compliance. * Other tasks as assigned by your supervisor or designate. Education/Work experience requirements: * Minimum 1-year experience in quality assurance in food processing or food packaging environment. * Knowledge & experience of GMPs, HACCP and & Quality Management systems. * Post-secondary education related to Quality Assurance and/or Food Science is an asset. Key technical & behavioural competencies: * Self-starter who works well under pressure and has great time management skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office such as Word and Excel. * Great interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work well both independently and with multiple departments as required. * Knowledge and basic understanding of allergen and pathogen swabbing techniques. * Knowledge of quality auditing, inspection methods. * Detail oriented. * Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task. * Excellent reading, writing, and oral communication skills. ------------------------------- We thank all candidates for their interest; however only those most qualified will be contacted.
