ABOUT US

Hara & Company is a family run law firm with deep roots in the Vancouver community. The firm was established by Thomas Hara, QC, in 1962, being the first Japanese-Canadian to open a sole law practice in British Columbia. This long history and connection to the local community is a key differentiating factor.

Starting as a thriving labour and criminal law practice, Thomas was counsel to six International Labour Unions while also running criminal trials and acting for approximately 100 companies. Following the addition of Thomas brother Glenn Hara to the firm in 1977, the firm broadened its areas of focus to include solicitors work, that is, advising on general commercial legal matters such as contracts of sale, real-estate transactions, wills and trusts. Glenn maintains close relationships with business owners in the East Vancouver community and is sought out for his practical approach to problem solving.

Bradley Hara joined his uncle and father at Hara & Company in 1992, after articling at Watson Goepel in the area of insurance defence and is now the Managing Partner. Bradleys focus at the firm is mostly civil litigation although he has also developed a large practice involving real estate, acquisitions and corporate law.
