ADMINISTRATIVE CLERK – HEALTH LAW (Hybrid)
We are currently seeking a professional, driven and energetic Administrative Clerk to join our Health Law group. This position is a great opportunity for someone new to the legal profession, who wants to grow their career and work with a vibrant and team-oriented group of people. The successful candidate will ideally have 1+ years of experience working in a corporate environment. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter with exceptional interpersonal skills, who thrives in a fast-paced and rewarding team environment.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Primary duties and responsibilities

  • Complete new business procedures

  • Prepare conflict searches and assess any potential conflicts

  • Prepare Client Identification Verification (“CIV”) information

  • Open files in 3E accounting system

  • Prepare various correspondence including letters, emails, etc.

  • Liaise with appropriate lawyer(s) and Legal Administrative Assistant(s) regarding all new business-related documents

  • Save file-related documents to the document management system

  • Discuss file assignments with the Practice Group Chair(s)

Secondary duties and responsibilities

  • Organization of documents and medical records in binders

  • Prepare open matter reports and request/gather all necessary client documentation

  • Prepare closed file reports, strip files, organize file materials

  • Assist with organizing meetings and scheduling appointments

  • Print / copy / scan / save documents in document management system

  • Prepare expense reports

  • Assist with accounting, billing and payment tasks

  • Other related general administrative duties and overflow assistance, as needed


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 1+ years of experience in a clerical or administrative capacity

  • Completion, or in the process of, of an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program preferred

  • Completion of an accredited medical office assistant program or Bachelor of Science degree considered an asset

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology considered an asset

  • Good technical skills including Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a contributing member in a team environment

  • Solid work ethic and team player

  • A willingness to learn and to adapt to changing demands

  • Ability to prioritize tasks by deadline, work calmly under pressure and manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced and time sensitive environment

  • Proven ability to take initiative as well as follow instructions

  • A polished and professional image and demeanor with a positive can-do attitude

The salary range for this role is $56,000 - $59,500 annually, which represents a fair market value and estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's relevant education, experience and qualifications
