Assistant Brand Manager

Your Role at Petcurean: As a critical member of the brand team, the Assistant Brand Manager applies strategic thinking and analytical skills to assist in the global development and execution of brand strategies. Working closely with internal Marketing and Innovation teams and external agencies, the ABM will manage key processes, advocate for consumer segments, and provide actionable insights and recommendations to support the Brand Manager in achieving global brand objectives.
This position will report to the Brand Manager and the successful candidate will be located in the Metro Vancouver or Fraser Valley areas.
This is a temporary position expected to last 12 months.
If you were the Assistant Brand Manager now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:- Supports the Brand Manager in leading research initiatives pertaining to global consumer behaviour and segmentation,
- Analyzes region-specific brand performance to aid in developing tailored brand strategies and positioning.
- Supports the Brand Manager in the research and development of brand or product campaign concepts and prepares them for turnover to the Marketing team.
- Closely coordinates with the various Marketing team to ensure brand and product campaigns and content are executed within the brand's equities
- Recommends strategies to the Brand Manager in the development of region-specific marketing claims databases and product packaging.
- Maintains strategic involvement in development of region-specific brand guidelines and identity
- Recommends strategies to the Brand Manager for building and maintaining a strong brand portfolio that meets consumer needs and drives brand growth.
- Collaborates with the Marketing team to identify assets that most resonate with our consumer segments, and build a library of region-specific branded assets to support brand adoption and advocacy
- Collaborates with the Marketing team to build content and assets for websites that are tailored to the region's consumers and consumer journeys, build brand equity, and deliver on key conversion goals
- Analyse and report on the brand's performance in global strategic markets, identify and advocate for brand growth opportunities, and act as the consumer marketing thought-leader for Marketing and Sales teams
- Roll up your sleeves and do what's necessary to get the job done and complete other duties as required within the same scope and level

- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

- Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in relevant discipline
- 3+ years of brand marketing experience in a consumer-packaged goods environment; global experience highly desired
- Experience with marketing project management and coordination within a corporate environment
- Proven experience turning ideas into reality, working with multiple fluid team structures with a high requirement for trust, integrity, and a solutions-oriented mindset
- Experience working as part of a cross-functional team
- Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally when required
