Hours of Work: Rotating 12-Hour Continental Shift, 2 weeks days, 2 weeks Nights 8-8
Number of Open Positions: 2, 1 for A shift and 1 for B shift
Hourly Pay: $23.56/hour
Requirements
- Operate, once certified, overhead cranes used for packaging finished product into crates or bundles in a proficient and safe manner
- Identify processing problems on the extruder, spray/vacuum tanks, haul-off, saw, or beller
- Identify quality issues with pipe. report and record in writing the vital production information regarding downtime or scrap identification into the computer systems with minimal errors
- Measure and record dimensional properties of product at predetermined time frames as required by the company's Quality program (QIR)
- Adjust haul-off speed to assure that wall thickness of the pipe is accurate to specifications then Advise the Leadership of changes
- Ensure all material, pipe and scrap storage areas of the assigned manufacturing operation are maintained in a clean and orderly manner
- Assist with production line start up and manufacture products to the required external and internal specifications
- Prepare packaging components that are required on the assigned line(s). This includes rework, cutting and assembling wood blocks, cutting and storing strapping, and cutting packaging wrap
- Responsible for building and packing pipe crates according to company specifications
- Abide by rules and operating instructions given by the Plant and Health, Safety, and Environment Management Systems (HSEMS) initiatives, and HSE Policies
- Assist in other areas as required
- Participate in recycling program (metal, wood, cardboard) by separating all recyclable material as advised by the Shift Supervisor or Departmental Manager
- Participate and support 5S program and Energy Conservation Initiative
Completion of a high school diploma or Equivalent
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Good written and verbal English communication skills required
Knowledge of Health and Safety practices required

Working ConditionsIncumbent spends almost 100% of their time in the plant environment requiring varying degrees of moderate physical labour. Lifting, pulling, pushing heavy objects (20-50lbs), standing and walking cover the majority of the work. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels and the use of equipment such as sharp blades and presses. Considerable amount of sensory attention is required. Limited control of work pace and unexpected workflow, bring considerable stresses to this position. The incumbent understands respects and adheres to the workplace health & safety rules and regulations.
