Our Transmission and Distribution group is currently looking to add a Project Manager to the team.
The Project Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and complete execution of projects across Ontario, with a 151kV Transmission Line construction project the initial priority, and will review progress / provide guidance for changes necessary to the execution plan.
This position will initially be required to be onsite in Dubreuilville, ON.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with project Estimator, Distribution Supervisor and Operations Manager to develop a detailed Project Plan and Budget
- Contract Management, including all over-arching agreements (e.g. MSAs) and subcontracts applicable to the project (administer the contract, including the scope of work, material and construction specifications, schedule constraints, invoicing requirements, reporting requirements, etc.)
- Coordinate with engineering / design teams and the client to ensure requirements are being adhered to, and the design is staying on schedule
- Monitor project financials on an ongoing basis to ensure things are on track
- Facilitate any ongoing project meetings (client, subcontractor, internal)
- Conduct monthly forecast meetings with project accountants and complete reporting on projected project margin
- Work closely with the Senior Project Manager and Operations Manager to strengthen relations with existing clients and pursue new business opportunities if the opportunity arises
- Performance Reviews and selection / mentoring of individuals with the skills and experience to take on future leadership positions
- Assist in submittal of proposals, such as writing deliverables, pricing review, scheduling, etc.
- Ensure that all project resources are working safely at all times
Requirements
- Post-Secondary Education in a related field (Engineering, Commerce, Construction Management)
- 7 years of related experience in Electrical Utility Construction
- An equivalent combination of relevant education / experience may be considered
- Proven experience with Project Management concepts and principles
- Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
Preferred Skills / Qualifications
- Ability to Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Project Management Professional (PMP), or working towards certification
- EIT / P.Eng. or other professional designation
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 Scheduling and JD Edwards
- Proven strong negotiation skills
