We are seeking a Equipment Operator to join our team in Edmonton, AB. This role is responsible for operating trackhoe and backhoe equipment for new shallow underground utility construction in residential subdivisions.

This position is based in the Edmonton area. Candidates must reside locally or within a reasonable commuting distance to be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate equipment in a safe, efficient and appropriate manor
  • Complete daily equipment inspection forms
  • Participate in daily Safety Meetings and Hazard Assessments
  • Participate in daily work planning schedule meetings
  • Understanding of soil mechanics and work with geotechnical engineers on density testing of soils
  • Be aware of proper rigging equipment and procedures for lifting materials
  • Have a sound understanding of issues relating to ground disturbance
  • Assist ground crew in duties, as necessary out of equipment when there is no operating work
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices
  • Administering company standards, policies, procedures and other regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • 3 years experience operating trackhoe and backhoe
  • Effective problem solver and communicator
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
