How You Will Make an Impact
Good Shepherd Centres is currently seeking a Manager of Program Services to oversee the day-to-day operations of several key programs including the Family Centre, Reaching Home, Overflow Hotel, and Bakhita House. Reporting to the Director, this leadership role is responsible for driving program success, ensuring operational efficiency, and supporting the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care.
The Manager provides direct supervision to Program Managers, supports staff development, and plays a key role in coaching, performance management, recruitment, and retention. You will ensure effective communication, resolve client or staff concerns in a timely manner, and foster a culture aligned with Good Shepherd's mission and values. The role also includes participating in external meetings with stakeholders and funders and serving as a backup to the Director when needed.
Key duties include leading and supporting interdisciplinary teams, improving quality of care through evidence-based practices, developing tools for collaboration and data tracking, monitoring budgets, and guiding leadership staff across all assigned programs. Flexibility is required, including occasional evening or weekend work and participation in an on-call rotation.

What You'll Bring to Our Team
- Degree or diploma in a relevant field from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years' experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness in a residential or outreach setting, including 3-5 years in a leadership role involving staff supervision, coaching, and performance management. Experience working in an emergency shelter setting is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex case strategies, creatively solve problems, and lead with compassion, fairness, and the ability to make logical decisions while encompassing empathy
- Proven success managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments while demonstrating adaptability and resilience
- Strong understanding of homelessness, poverty, mental health, substance use, trauma, harm reduction, and Housing First approaches
- Skilled in applying anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and culturally competent frameworks in practice
- Experience in program development, service evaluation, and effective community collaboration
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and case management skills
- Knowledge of community resources, social determinants of health, and evidence-informed practices
- Valid driver's license required; access to a vehicle is recommended
- Fluency in a second language is an asset
- Demonstrated understanding of workplace health and safety practices and commitment to the Mission and Values of Good Shepherd Centres
