Position Overview: Victoria International Airport (YYJ) is seeking a hands-on and experienced Site Parking Manager to oversee all aspects of our curbside and parking operations. This is a leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment and is passionate about operational efficiency, team development, and excellent service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Provide full-time, on-site leadership of all parking and curbside operations at YYJ.
  • Manage day-to-day functions of Lot 1, Lot 2, Short-Term, Employee parking, overflow lots, and curbside areas.
  • Monitor equipment functionality (Skidata, Flowbird, LPR, pay stations) and ensure quick issue escalation.
  • Maintain safe, efficient traffic flow and ensure adherence to YYJ parking and curbside protocols.

Staffing & Supervision

  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise Lot Attendants, Cashiers, Curb Management Officers, and support personnel.
  • Ensure consistent and compliant staffing coverage, especially during peak travel periods and holidays.
  • Maintain shift schedules, employee records, and ongoing training compliance.
  • Coach and evaluate staff performance while fostering a positive and accountable work culture.

Customer Service & Complaint Resolution

  • Act as the primary escalation point for customer issues, complaints, or disputes.
  • Oversee the complaint resolution process and maintain a detailed log for review with VAA.
  • Promote customer-first values, accessibility, and professionalism across the team.

Reporting & Financial Oversight

  • Ensure timely submission of all required reports, including:
  • Weekly revenue statements
  • Monthly reconciliation by lot and payment type
  • Staff hours and scheduling
  • Incident and enforcement reports
  • Oversee compliance with revenue handling procedures and support periodic audits.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and propose improvements to operations, layout, staffing, enforcement, and customer service.
  • Support VAA goals around sustainability, accessibility, digital innovation, and curbside efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 35 years of operational management experience in parking, transportation, or aviation environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a high-volume, customer-facing role.
  • Knowledge of parking systems (PARCS, LPR, mobile payment apps) and enforcement processes.
  • Familiarity with airport operations or curbside/traffic management is a strong asset.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); French language ability is an asset.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • This role is fully outdoors and requires working in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, high winds, extreme cold, and heat.
  • Regularly conducts outdoor inspections and staff check-ins in all weather conditions.
  • Must be available to respond to operational issues during early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
