We are looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)with strong leadership skills to guide our dynamic team atDiamond Spring Lodge.The role is responsible for ensuring top resident care is priority, with a high level of focus in time management, hospitality, and care.
The Town of Redwater offers picturesque surroundings and a rural environment, all within commuting distance (1 hour) to the major urban center of Edmonton. Despite its smaller size, Redwater uncharacteristically offers all the amenities available in a large city, such as a hospital, emergency medical services, a fire department, RCMP detachment, and K-12 schools, all reasons why the Redwater community continues to be a big draw for both businesses and young families.
We are seeking candidates interested in:
Part Time Days - 0.5 FTE - (7:00am to 3:15pm) Not Benefit Eligible role
Part Time Evenings - 0.6 FTE - (3:00pm to 11:15pm) Benefit Eligible Role
Skills and key deliverables that will take you further:
- An organized Clinical Mentor Care Partner who advocates for the Residents and coordinates daily tasks with the vision, objectives, and guiding philosophy of Connecting Care
- Supports the Residents lifestyle in accordance with the Residents individualized Care Plan as authorized by Homecare
- Ensuring that care is provided in accordance with nursing best practices, our Well-Being Strategies, quality improvement guidelines and regulations
- A strong commitment to Person Directed Care approaches (familiarity with the Eden Alternative Philosophy and the Domains of Well-Being preferred)
- Provides medication assistance to the Residents, according to current Well-Being Strategies
- Liaising with Doctors, Pharmacists, Homecare Nurse, Managers and families to facilitate the highest care for the Resident
- Excellent rapport building to nurture, understand, and respect residents, families, visitors, and external Care Partners to ensure the vibrancy of our community
- Knowledge of supportive living services, assessments and care planning
- Maintains ongoing compliance with appropriate local, provincial, and federal regulatory standards
- Strong communicator who conveys an excellent level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Proactive problem solver with the ability to deal effectively with crisis situations and de-escalations
- Ongoing monitoring and continuous quality improvement and adherence to safe work practices
- Participates in ongoing educational programs to update knowledge on applicable topics
Foundational knowledge and experience to grow from:
- Must be a graduate of a recognized LPN program
- Registered and in good standing with their related Licensing Body (CLPNA)
- Valid Certification in First Aid and CPR
