About Star Zar

Star Zar (https://starzar.ca) is a HVAC contractor serving builders, developers, and homeowners across the GTA since 2013. We handle turnkey heating, cooling, and ventilation projects for single-family homes and low-rise commercial spaces.

We're looking for an intermediate HVAC technician to work on the new construction projects that we currently have underway.

What You'll Do

• Install and service furnaces, A/C units, heat pumps, HRVs, and ductwork for residential and light-commercial sites.

• Install new HVAC equipment (gas & electric) to spec, following regulations and code.

• Diagnose & troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control issues.

• Commission & test systems, complete digital service reports, and brief clients on operation/maintenance.

• Collaborate with site superintendents, apprentices, and subcontractors to keep projects on schedule.

• Maintain safety compliance (WHMIS, WAH) and keep accurate parts/asset records.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience with residential or low-rise commercial HVAC systems.

• Valid G2 Gas Technician Licence (G1 preferred) and ODP/313A or D cooler licence.

• Working knowledge of Ontario Building Code & TSSA standards.

• Able to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and load calculations.

• G driver's licence; comfortable covering jobs around the GTA.

• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined/roof spaces.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with high-efficiency heat pumps and hydronic systems.

• Familiarity with digital dispatch/CRM apps (e.g., ServiceTitan, Jobber).

• Sheet-metal or electrical endorsement.

• VRF/ERV commissioning experience.
