In December 2024, We'koqma'q First Nation (WFN) announced the purchase of 15 acres of land next to our community, Glenview Riverside Campground. We are excited to continue regular operations of the campground for the 2025 season and are looking for a dedicated and experienced Campground Manager to oversee its operations.
The campground offers a serene and picturesque retreat along the banks of the Skye River. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Cape Breton Island, this campground is a perfect destination for those looking to explore the outdoors while enjoying the comforts of a well-maintained site. The campgrounds riverside setting provides a peaceful atmosphere where visitors can relax, unwind, and immerse themselves in the tranquil surroundings.
The campground offers a variety of accommodations, including spacious RV sites with full hookups, tent sites, and cozy cabins. Each site is designed to provide privacy and comfort, with many offering scenic views of the river. The cabins are fully equipped, making them a great option for those seeking a more comfortable stay while still enjoying the camping experience.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT
The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and safety of the campground facilities and grounds. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to perform a variety of maintenance and groundskeeping tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on campground facilities, including restrooms, showers, cabins, and common areas.
- Maintain and repair plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of the grounds and facilities to identify and address any maintenance issues.
- Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the campground, including trash removal, landscaping, and general cleaning.
- Perform groundskeeping duties such as mowing, raking, trimming, and watering plants.
- Assist with the setup and teardown of events and activities held at the campground.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
- Operate and maintain maintenance equipment and tools.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Lead and other team members to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in maintenance, repair, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to operate maintenance and groundskeeping equipment and tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license.
WORKING CONDITIONS
