Our team is expanding and looking to hire a Material Coordinator. We are looking for a dynamic and driven candidate interested in joining a fast-growing global company in the automotive sector.
The Material Coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of raw materials, components, and finished goods within the automotive manufacturing process. This role ensures the timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules, maintains accurate inventory records, and coordinates with suppliers, warehouse staff, and production teams to prevent disruptions. Other duties include:
- Establishment of the Production Planning System:
- Lead the development and implementation of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP), ensuring optimal balancing of capacity, inventory levels, and delivery targets.
- Promote the adoption of advanced digital production scheduling tools (e.g., SAP PP/DS, APS systems) to facilitate multi-factory planning collaboration and enhance operational efficiency.
- Order Delivery Management:
- Oversee the entire customer order fulfillment process, from order acceptance through shipment, addressing any unforeseen issues such as material shortages or urgent order insertion
- Develop and implement tiered emergency response plans, including strategies for capacity allocation in response to urgent orders from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
- Inventory and Cost Control:
- Optimize inventory levels across raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished products, with a target of reducing slow-moving inventory to ≤1%.
- Collaborate closely with the purchasing department to adopt Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Just-In-Time (JIT) models, thereby minimizing overall supply chain costs.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
- Facilitate seamless coordination among sales, purchasing, production, and logistics departments to ensure the effective execution of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meeting resolutions.
- Provide strategic support for new project production ramp-ups, such as resource allocation during the mass production phase of aluminum battery boxes.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Integrate Lean production methodologies, including tools like Lean Kanban, to reduce production lead times and enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct thorough analyses of key performance indicator (KPI) deviations related to planning (e.g., plan achievement rates) to drive systematic and sustainable improvements.
To be a qualified candidate, you must meet the following:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Manufacturing, or related fields is required.
- More than five (5) years of professional experience in production planning and management within the automotive parts industry, with a thorough understanding of IATF 16949 requirements for production control, is essential.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in multi-factory planning collaboration in multinational corporations or Just-In-Time/Just-In-Sequence (JIT/JIS) delivery processes managed by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP MM/PP modules) and advanced Excel skills (including VBA and Power Query) are mandatory. Candidates must also demonstrate familiarity with the planning logic of the automotive industry, such as predictive fluctuation handling and safety stock calculation models.
- Fluent English is required for global conferences, and proficiency in a second foreign language (e.g., Spanish or German) would be considered an advantage.
