Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Foreman to lead and supervise electrical crews on residential and commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of electricians and apprentices on construction sites.
- Plan and layout electrical work based on blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure project timelines and objectives are met.
- Ensure all electrical installations comply with local codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Monitor productivity and quality of work performed by crew members.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, labor hours, and progress updates.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and resolve issues as they arise.
- Enforce safety policies and practices, conduct regular safety meetings, and ensure PPE is used properly.
- Assist in estimating labor and material costs for upcoming work.
- Train and mentor less experienced electricians.
Qualifications:
- Licensed journeyman or master electrician.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in residential or commercial electrical construction.
- Proven leadership experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Strong understanding of local building codes.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Capable of working independently, prioritizing tasks, and making informed decisions in fast paced environments.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Computer proficiency in Excel and Bluebeam Revu considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed on active construction sites.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to various weather conditions and construction hazards.
