CMP Group Ltd., a leading provider of Marine Products, Construction, and Industrial solutions is seeking a Tool and Die Helper to join Delta, British Columbia location/team on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Metal Specialist, who works closely with the Plant Manager, Production Supervisor, and the lead hand team to provide support with various tasks within the Tool and Die department; to polish, maintain, and repair all Tool and Die fixtures for CMP Delta. The Helper would be responsible for setting up and operating manual and CNC lathes and milling machines.

Responsibilities
- Assists Tool & Die Maker in the repair and restoration of existing tooling.
- Monitors tool parts inventory levels for Tool and Die.
- Assembles and disassembles Tools and Dies as required.
- Performs minor repairs on existing tools e.g. core pins, ejector pins and date pins etc.
- Performs repair and maintenance to existing tooling.
- Set up and operate manual milling & lathe.
- Ensures quality by following documents and procedures laid out by CMP
- Review dies at end of each run to determine current state and/if repairs/replacement required.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, As per Metal Specialists instructions.
- Supports others within the department
- Maintains Quality documents and records as required.
- Must follow all safety protocol implemented within the organization
- Enforces safety practices as per CMP and Work safe standards and maintains safe operations by adhering to safety work procedures and regulations.
- Follows all the safety policies of the company, safe working procedures, emergency procedures and accident and safety reporting procedures.
- Ensures contractors and visitors to production area are following CMP and Work safe standards
- Provides timely accident investigations or corrective actions to Supervisors within CMPD
- Implement changes required as per the Safety Committee recommendations.
- Follows/participates in continuous improvement projects with CMP Delta
- Maintains best practices in all work areas, complete with process documentation.
- Participates in Lean projects within the organization
- Schedules and participates in training as requested i.e. NADCA Training and Conferences (Tooling)
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
- 2 + years of experience in running lathe and mills (both manual and CNC preferred)
- 1 + year of Die Cast manufacturing (Tool room experience, preferred)
- Lean Manufacturing – Certification
- Experience with 6S, Lean Manufacturing principles, and ISO processes
- Operates well with co-workers in all departments, following Respect code of conduct
- Good understanding of basic computer applications
- Availability to work various shifts (Asset)
- Essential skills needed: Mathematics, conceptual processes, technical and communication

- Monday to Friday
- Day shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm
