Key Responsibilities


The Senior Engineer provides leadership and technical expertise for design, coordination, and review across multidisciplinary projects. This role ensures engineering work meets regulatory standards and project objectives, while supporting junior staff and collaborating with clients and consultants.

Engineering Design & Oversight

  • Lead design and coordination efforts for assigned discipline
  • Prepare, review, and approve drawings, specifications, and reports
  • Conduct design reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and quality benchmarks

Project Leadership

  • Collaborate with project managers and consultants to meet design goals
  • Participate in multidisciplinary project meetings and decision-making
  • Identify risks, propose solutions, and ensure technical excellence

Client & Team Support

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors as the lead technical contact
  • Provide technical input throughout all project phases
  • Support proposal development and business development efforts

Construction Administration

  • Conduct field reviews and site inspections
  • Issue technical direction and interpret design intent on-site
  • Assist with construction coordination and contractor support

Cross-Training and Flexibility
LRL Associates LTD reserves the right to cross-train employees as needed and expects flexibility in performing any duties for which employees have received training or orientation.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • A P'Eng designation in Ontario ( an asset if also Quebec)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, codes, and standards (e.g., OESC, CEC, OBC, NBC, NFPA, etc).
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years experience
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple ongoing projects/tasks
  • Proficiency in the easypower program
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Teams)
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Effective communication skills (English), both verbal and written
  • French is an asset
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
