WOW 1 DAY PAINTING is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join our team in Vancouver, BC, operating under a hybrid work model. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to building a new application from the ground up, playing a key role in designing, developing, and deploying high-quality software solutions.

As our Senior Software Engineer, you'll be a driving force behind a tech revolution designed to give our customers and franchise partners an unparalleled advantage. You'll be working closely with our Product team to translate ambitious ideas into elegant, scalable solutions. You'll be instrumental in setting the technical direction, fostering best practices, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

???? YOUR IMPACT AT WOW 1 DAY PAINTING

  • Leading Development & Architecture: You'll lead the end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of our core Next.js application, built with the power of TypeScript, ensuring high-performance, reliability, and scalability from the ground up. You'll also significantly contribute to architectural decisions and the overall technical direction of our exciting projects.
  • Driving Engineering Excellence: You'll champion and implement best practices for full-stack development, including elevating our code quality, refining our automated testing strategies, and optimizing our CI/CD pipelines. Expect to actively participate in code reviews, ensuring the highest standards of quality, consistency, and maintainability across the team, while also identifying and advocating for continuous improvements in our development processes, tools, and technologies.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship: You'll partner closely with our product director, talented designers, and fellow engineers to define exciting new features and transform complex requirements into robust technical solutions. Beyond that, you'll mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers, fostering a vibrant culture of continuous learning, growth, and knowledge sharing.

???? WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and building complex, scalable web applications, including significant experience launching successful greenfield projects.
  • Strong proficiency in building robust Next.js applications using TypeScript and React – you live and breathe these technologies.
  • Experience thriving in a fast-paced startup environment, bringing a resourceful, proactive, and adaptable mindset to every challenge.
  • Solid command of Amazon Web Services (AWS), particularly with services like AWS Amplify Gen 2, S3, EC2, and RDS.
  • Familiarity with database technologies like PostgreSQL.
  • A strong understanding of modern architecture patterns and best practices – you know how to build for the long term.
  • Experience crafting comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to the vibrant Vancouver, BC area for our collaborative hybrid work model.

???? COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Salary is $100,000 to $125,000 per annum (The actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience, and internal parity).
