Job Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking workers to join our grain farming operations in Manitoba, Canada. The successful candidate will work between two grain farms located in a rural area. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on agricultural experience with top of the line equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planting, growing, and harvesting crops such as wheat, barley, and canola and corn.
- Operate and maintain farming machinery and equipment, including tractors, combines, and seeders.
- Support farm operations with tasks such as maintenance of equipment, inventory of grain, operations, yard duties such as but not limited too – lawn mowing, cleaning of grain bins etc.
- Work with farm managers and other team members to maintain farm facilities, buildings, and equipment.
- Ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to safety standards and protocols.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in farming or agriculture.
- Ability to work long hours in outdoor conditions, with physical stamina and a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of farm machinery is an asset.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A valid driver's license. Class 1 an asset
- Ability to work independently and take initiative when needed..
Benefits:
- Overtime: After 50 hours per week
- Vacation entitlement is 10 days per year, that shall accrue each pay period based upon their average hours worked. After 1 month of employment, the employee shall be eligible to use accrued vacation time.
- Each employee is eligible for $2000 per year in a health spending account, which can be redeemed via eligible receipts being provided. After 6 months of employment, the employee is eligible to access the health spending account.
