Canadian Treads, an innovative leader in tire repurposing, specializes in retreading commercial truck tires through a precise, multi-step process that combines traditional craftsmanship with advanced technology to extend the life of the commercial truck tires. We are currently seeking a Day Shift Supervisor to join our dynamic team, working with and taking direction from the Plant Manager, while overseeing the daily operations on the production floor. This role is essential to ensuring a smooth, safe, and efficient manufacturing process while driving team performance and supporting company goals. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support production employees on your shift
- Ensure safety, quality, and productivity standards are maintained throughout the shift
- Enforce Health & Safety procedures and promptly address unsafe practices or hazards
- Arrange appropriate training for your shift's employees in coordination with company trainers
- Maintain alignment with the Plant Manager's expectations, goals, and leadership approach
- Communicate effectively with supervisors from other shifts and departments to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent operations
- Organize staffing and workflow on the production floor; ensure team members rotate between stations as needed
- Address attendance, performance, and conduct issues within your shift and report concerns appropriately
- Support a positive team environment and lead by example in professionalism and work ethic
- Step in to support stations during absences or high-demand periods as needed
- Complete shift documentation and escalate issues or needs to management
Qualifications
- Prior supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing environment is an asset
- Prior Experience in a retread facility is an asset
- Familiarity with safety protocols, workflow planning, and cross-functional coordination
- Comfortable arranging training and supporting a cross-trained workforce
- Experience with computer-based systems for tracking production and accessing specs
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with supervisors across shifts and departments
- Strong organizational and decision-making skills
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and staying active on the floor throughout the shift
- Committed to professionalism, consistency, and working within a unified leadership framework
