About the Role

We're looking for a skilled Project Manager – Fabrication to lead the estimating, scheduling, procurement, and production tracking for our Fort Saskatchewan Fabrication Shop. Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality fabrication projects safely, on time, and on budget.

What You'll Do
  • Bid on work and prepare estimates
  • Track costs against estimate and actual production
  • Prepare schedules and labor budgets
  • Prepare material take offs; assist with ordering and receiving materials.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with shop staff, operations, external clients, suppliers and vendors
  • Maintain exceptional standards in health and safety regulations and protocols
  • Report on schedule, cost control and shop production to senior management
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Management program
  • Provide mentorship, training and performance management to direct reports
  • Meet with management to provide feedback and develop work optimization strategies
  • Assist with developing strategies to optimize workflow and operational efficiency
  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish supplies as needed
  • Perform administrative tasks such as updating and filing equipment orders and staff schedules
What You Bring
  • 2-5 years experience in a similar role in a fabrication shop environment required
  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering preferred or equivalent experience in mechanical processes
  • P.Eng designation considered an asset
  • PMP designation considered an asset
  • Highly effective client relations, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings/blueprints
  • Extensive previous experience in fabrication, engineering, procurement and cost control disciplines required
  • Sense of urgency is critical in this role, many requests are time-sensitive and require the ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
  • Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with various stakeholders
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience working within a Google based company using Google calendar, drive, sheets, docs, etc. considered an asset. We are a Google based company.
  • Experience using Bluebeam required
  • Experience with Acornpipe an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret client supplied RFQ specifications, PFD's and PID's
  • Working knowledge of the following quality codes;
    • ASME B31.3 Process Piping
    • ASME B31.5 Refrigeration Piping
    • ASME Section VIII Division I
    • Z662
    • CSA B51
    • CWB Structural Codes
  • Mathematical and analytical skills required to build, understand and interpret job cost reports
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Experience with civil and piping disciplines is considered an asset
