Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Resident Engineer to join our team in Brechin. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting various engineering and operational functions, including proposal development, supplier management, logistics coordination, R&D and FEA initiatives. This is a dynamic position ideal for an experienced engineer who is looking to contribute across multiple departments in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the engineering department with interpreting and responding to Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
  • Coordinate with design engineers on technical documentation and deliverables
  • Prepare and coordinate both technical and commercial proposals for clients
  • Support purchasing and logistics teams in sourcing suppliers and materials. Produce regular project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare, review, and provide feedback on SolidWorks drawings
  • Participate in Research & Development projects and support innovation initiatives
  • Perform FEA analysis on components
  • Manage movement of goods, including shipping, receiving, and internal transfers
  • Source suppliers, obtain and evaluate quotes, and negotiate terms
  • Monitor inventory levels, ensuring timely procurement and restocking using company's MRP.
  • Track shipments and resolve delivery or customs issues when needed
  • Evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery time, and service

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor degree in Engineering with P.Eng. A Master's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related discipline) will be given preferential consideration
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and technical documentation
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics processes
  • Proven ability to coordinate across departments and collaborate within teams
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to relocate to Orillia/Beaverton, (Ontario) area
