We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our team and work directly with the Tax Partner. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Canadian tax laws and regulations and will be responsible for managing all tax-related activities for both corporate and individual clients. This role involves strategic tax planning, compliance, reporting, and working closely with senior leadership to ensure the company's and clients' tax strategies align with broader financial goals.Key ResponsibilitiesTax Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure the timely and accurate filing of corporate and individual tax returns in accordance with Canadian federal and provincial regulations.
- Oversee all tax-related documentation and processes to maintain compliance with CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) guidelines.
- Manage all tax filings including HST/GST, payroll taxes, and corporate income taxes.
- Provide expert advice on tax implications for business decisions, corporate transactions, and investments.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies that minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial performance.
- Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and proactively recommend adjustments to tax strategies as needed.
- Identify potential tax risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Manage tax audits and resolve any tax disputes with governmental authorities.
- Ensure all tax-related issues are handled efficiently and in compliance with regulations.
- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Collaborate with other departments including finance, legal, and external consultants to ensure alignment in tax strategy and compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing them with regular updates on tax changes and strategies.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients on all tax-related matters.
- CPA designation or equivalent accounting qualification.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in tax management or a related field.
- Strong experience in corporate and individual tax compliance, tax planning, and audit management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage client relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of international tax laws is a plus
