POSITION SUMMARY

This position is primarily responsible for ensuring Canadian indirect tax compliance, with additional support for direct tax compliance as directed by Canadian Tax Managers. The role involves managing monthly reconciliations, filing tax returns, coordinating with third-party vendors, supporting audits, and maintaining the indirect tax document library.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Reconcile indirect tax general ledger accounts monthly
• File indirect tax returns and remit sales tax payments
• Coordinate indirect tax reviews with third-party vendors
• Maintain and administer the SharePoint tax library and train end users
• Prepare support for cash taxes paid disclosure in audited financials
• Manage tax correspondence (written, email, phone)
• Lead indirect tax audits and compile required documentation
• Support US Indirect Tax Manager with Canadian tax insights for Oracle EBTax
• Report monthly GST/HST analytics to Tax Manager (review GHY reports)
• Perform self-audits to identify indirect tax savings opportunities
• Conduct research of complex indirect tax determination
• Assist Accounts Payable with sales tax queries

Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• Currently enrolled or completed In-Depth GST/HST
• Currently enrolled or completed the CPA Program considered an asset
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience and indirect tax experience
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, advanced skills in MS Excel
• Strong knowledge of non-conforming Provincial sales tax
• Exposure to Oracle considered an asset
