The Truck Driver is responsible to transport goods to and from designated locations safely and according to company policy and legal requirements.
What You'll do
- Complete pre-inspections of the vehicle each day before operating the truck
- Responsible to document all inspections to ensure equipment in maintained in proper working order
- Report immediately to the Shipping Manager in there are any safety or environmental issues
- Drive AZ trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods to and from designated locations
- Ensure all necessary paperwork, such as bills of lading and delivery receipts, are completed accurately and on time
- Safely secure loads on the truck for every delivery
- Adhere to all traffic law as and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures, while operating the vehicle
- Use the correct loading, unloading, and dumping procedures
- Minor truck maintenance may be required
- Keep the truck clean and in good working condition, and report any maintenance issues to the Shipping Manager immediately
- Represent the company in a professional manner when interacting with customers and the public
- Responsible to follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all Can Art Company Policies
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid AZ license is required
- Minimum 3 years' experience as an AZ Driver is preferred
- Knowledge of federal and provincial regulations governing transportation of goods
- Must have a clean Drivers Abstract
- Must be able to drive a flatbed truck
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle
- Strong work ethics and positive attitude
- Ability to manage a fast-paced and physically demanding position
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Eight hour shift with flexibility required
- Long periods of driving required
- Exposure to loud noise and heat
- May be required to lift up to 50lbs
- Overtime as needed
