Are you excited about the craft industry and joining the most successful and innovative craft cider producer in Nova Scotia? Muwin Estate is currently seeking an enthusiastic Blending & Fermentation Specialist to join our team. As a fast-expanding company, we are looking for a team player that wishes to grow with the company on a long-term basis. The position is based out of New Ross, Nova Scotia.

Reporting to the Winery Manager/Winemaker, the key responsibilities for the position will consist of:

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Working with the cellar hand, perform daily tasks including: blending, fermentations , filtrations, racking, fining, cleaning and sanitation according to in-house protocols.

· Perform standard lab analysis of sugars, alcohol, pH, TA, free and total SO2 etc.

· Operating & maintaining cellar equipment

· Creating weekly cellar schedules to ensure production goals are met

· Inventory management and procurement

· Representing the winery at events as needed

Required Skills:

· Relevant degrees in Science, Engineering or from technical Programs considered

· Minimum of 2 years of commercial winemaking or fermentation experience in a lead position

· Ability to multitask on a regular basis and carry out required tasks with minimal supervision

· Good computer literacy and familiarity with the use of spreadsheets

· Excellent command of the English language - both written and oral

· Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable in a team environment, customer focused from an operational perspective

· Must have a positive behavior and be able to lead by example

Working Conditions:

· This position requires physical effort which entails lifting and moving up to and including 25 Kgs

· Able to work at heights (catwalk)

· Willing to work in all weather conditions

· Must be able and willing to work flexible hours, overtime or staggered hours in order to meet production needs.

· The work load is expected to be 70% hands-on in the cellar and 30% laboratory and administrative tasks
